Described by «Wiener Zeitung» as an «extraordinary talented musician», Maxime Ganz is known for his touching musicality, as well as his sense of phrasing and his great technical mastery.
Maxime performed with orchestras like Berner Symphonie Orchester, Cappella Istropolitana, State Chamber Orchestra of Russia, The SODRE Orquesta Sínfonica Nacional of Uruguay, and under the direction of Theodor Guschlbauer, Kristiina Poska, Corinna Niemeyer and Martín García.
Highlights of the Season 2022/2023 include debuts with Neues Zürcher Orchestra and CD release in Vienna with his father Amiram Ganz with works for duo Violin-Violoncello as well as Solo pieces from Kodály, Ligeti, Bartók and Ravel.
Maxime is prize winner of many competitions and foundations as Julio Cardona in Covilha, Rahn foundation in Zürich, Nicati foundation in Lausanne.
As a soloist and chamber musician, Maxime Ganz performs in renowned music centres such as the Vienna Musikverein, the Auditorio Nacional Madrid, the Tschaïkovsky Hall of Moscow, the Zentrum Paul Klee in Bern or «Palais des Congrès» in Strasbourg and has played at important festivals such as the Radio France Occitanie Montpellier Festival, «Les Pianos Folies» du Touquet, the Santander Festival and the «Schloss Weinzierl» Festival.
Born in Strasbourg into a family of musicians, he received his first cello lessons at the age of 5. Maxime studied with Jean Deplace at the Strasbourg Conservatory. He entered into the class of the famous teacher Natalia Shakhovskaya in the school «Reina Sofia» in Madrid, and then finished his studies in Switzerland with renowned cellist Antonio Meneses in Bern.
Maxime got advices from great musicians as Mikhaïl Milman, Rudolf Barshai, Mario Brunello, Truls Mørk, Natalia Gutman, Miklós Perényi, Ivan Monighetti, Walter Lewin, Menahem Pressler, Ralf Gothóni, Frans Helmerson, Philippe Müller and many others.
Maxime Ganz teaches at the Bern Conservatory and since the winter semester of 2022 is professor at the Klagenfurt’s Gustav Mahler Private University.
